There’s something about this weather that makes me crave cinnamon mocktails. This easy recipe has a beautiful combination of juicy pomegranate, warming cinnamon and a touch of maple. It’s also antioxidant rich and nourishing – cheers to that!
Of course, the most important thing about mocktails is the taste, but have you heard functional mocktails? This is classified as a recipe that provides additional health benefits. If I was going to recommend one, THIS would be it! Pomegranate juice contains magnesium, which may help to promote relaxation and stress reduction, while cinnamon has been known to increase serotonin and melatonin levels, which both aid is achieving quality slumber.

Ingredients
Pomegranate juice: Ahhh pomegranate juice, I love thee. Yes, I know people often scoff at mocktails with juice but as far as juice goes, pomegranate is one of the most superior in terms of taste, mouthfeel and goodness. Choose organic pomegranate juice if you can and if you are a fellow pomegranate lover, try my easy pomegranate mocktails.
Cinnamon tea: you can use cinnamon tea bags for this recipe, or make your own cinnamon tea. I’ve included an email method in the recipe card below. Tip: if you love cinnamon mocktails, check out my cinnamon apple mocktail for Fall.
Orange juice: pomegranate, cinnamon and orange, oh my! This is a flavor harmony not to be missed. I prefer freshly squeezed but you can absolutely use bottled for this.
Maple syrup: I only needed a splash (about half a teaspoon) of maple syrup in my cinnamon mocktail, but feel free to add more if you need.
Sparkling water (optional): you have the choice of making this bubbly or still. If opting for the bubbly version, soda water is the perfect mixer.
Equipment
Shaker: You’ll need a shaker for this recipe, but if you don’t have one there are plenty of every day replacements you can use. My favorite is a mason jar, or you can use a drink bottle. Anything with a tight lid will work!
Jigger: a jigger is essentially a measuring cup/spoon for mocktails and cocktails. If you don’t have one, just use your regular measuring spoons.
Pretty glassware: ok it’s not essential, but gorgeous glassware does add to the experience – and I am convinced it makes mocktails taste EVEN better.
How to make pomegranate cinnamon mocktails
Add the pomegranate juice, cinnamon tea, orange juice and maple syrup to your shaker.
Add a few ice cubes, replace the lid and shake well.
Fill your glass halfway with ice and pour the mixture in.
If you’re making the sparkling version, top with soda water.
Stir well to incorporate ingredients.
Garnish with your choice of cinnamon sticks, pomegranate arils and/or dehydrated lemon.
How to make it as a batch mocktail in a pitcher
I love batch mocktails that can be made in a pitcher and judging by the number of requests I get – so do you! Luckily this one is easy to adapt.
First, increase the number of serves you want to make in the recipe card below. This will tell you how much of each ingredient you need for the amount of serves you want to make.
Take your pitcher or punch bowl and add the pomegranate juice, cinnamon tea, orange juice and maple syrup. Taste, then add a little extra maple if you wish.
If you’re making the still version, you can either serve immediately, or place in the fridge until you are ready to serve. If you’re making the sparkling version, either add the soda water now, or place in the fridge and add the soda water just before you’re ready to serve – you want to preserve those bubbles!
I recommend adding a cup or two of ice to the pitcher to keep it cool, but not too much…you don’t want to water it down and dilute the flavor.
Serve over ice with your choice of garnishes.
Experts tips and tricks
If you love cinnamon mocktails, make a super strong tea! You can do this by using 2 tea bags instead of 1 when brewing. Or, if making homemade cinnamon tea, leave the cinnamon sticks to brew for up an hour off the heat. I’ve included homemade cinnamon tea instructions in the recipe card below.
Replace the maple with your choice of sweetener if you wish. I’ve had a bit of feedback lately that not all of you are a fan of maple, so you can replace this with honey syrup, monkfruit sweetener, stevia, or any other sweetener you prefer – you do you!

Notes
If you are using the tea, use 2 teabags and follow the packet instructions. You will have enough several cinnamon mocktails.
To make homemade cinnamon tea: break 2 cinnamon sticks into pieces and put them in a small saucepan with 1 cup water. Place over medium heat without the lid until the mixture is just simmering. Turn the heat to low, replace the lid and leave to simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat, strain and place in the fridge to cool.
Note 2: the maple syrup can be replaced with with honey syrup or any other sweetener of your choice.
Note 3: this mocktail can be made still or sparkling. Just leave the soda water out if you wish!
